Our NetSpace groups are very different in flavour from each other giving us more
flexibility, but with a framework of underlying principles which mark them out as
Net small groups.
The principles we have identified are as follows:
• Core- What are the groups aims? I.e. how will we know if the group is succeeding?
The aims reflect the mission statement of the church.
• Commitment- what commitment is expected in terms of being part of the group
and of the life of the group? What can be expected from the group?
• Communion- How is the group worshipping/ praying/reading the bible together?
• Culture- how does the group reflect the culture which it is part of?
• Community- How are we more than just a meeting? How do we care for each
other and get involved in each other lives?
• Commission- How is the group reaching out through words and deeds so it
is not just ‘in’ focused?
Each group writes its own mission statement based on the principles outlined above, and regularly evaluates to check it is meeting the aims (the mission statements will be online shortly). The groups which we have are as follows;
NetSpace Soul Training helps us to explore a wide range of Christian spirituality and therefore grow in our own faith journey. We meet bi-weekly in homes from 7.30-9.30pm on Sundays.
NetSpace Foundations helps those who want to think about the basics of the Christian faith discover more. We meet weekly and are doing the Alpha Course at The New Union Bar in Huddersfield.
NetSpace Timeshare helps us find time and space in the middle of the busy week to pray, read the bible and think about our faith. We meet weekly in homes usually on a Wednes- day morning.
NetSpace Connect helps those who want to pray, listen, worship and connect with God. We meet weekly in homes from 7.30-9.30pm on a Wednesday.
NetSpace Central helps young adults connect with God and those outside the church. We meet weekly in a town centre pub from 8- 10pm on a Wednesday.
NetSpace HomePage helps us integrate our daily life with our faith journey through reading and studying the Bible. We meet weekly in homes from 8-10pm on a Mon- day.
NetSpace Leaders Connect helps those who are leaders in everyday life encourage faith as they eat breakfast together. We meet monthly in the 3rd Floor Café at Hud- dersfield University from 8-9.30am.
Each of these groups has come out of a need or passion identified by members of the church and we are open for new groups to start and old ones to finish.
